Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage Set 1 (or Project Sekai as it's often referred to for short), is the foundation of a very powerful and growing set. In Japan, as the series has evolved (and will continue to evolve with Set 3 releasing soon) it has proven to be a powerful contender. Set 1 in English comes to us a bit late and out of time by 3 years in the current meta environment. (The original set release was on February 11th, 2022 and we got it in English on June 27th, 2025.) However, with powerful sequels to look forward to that will hopefully be released in a timely manner the set is still very playable for now. So let's build some budget decks while we await the announcement of Set 2!
I’ll be completely up front here. While I’d love for this to just be a 100% Wonderlands x Showtime deck, this is very hard to do and have a consistent budget build. With no TD+ finisher character (it’s tied to an event), and the others having a 3 or more cards in memory requirement for its finisher ability, and hefty stock costs tied to that it just makes more sense to tech in some other cards (and a fun Level 2 combo that gives us some budget early play heal) from the other units. But to be fair you’ll find two deck lists below. One is what I consider to be more playable, with the other is completely budget unit locked. Budget and Pay Day extra cash upgrades work for both.
Deck Code: 3QMK0

Quick Pilot Guide Deck 1:
The goal of this deck is to use the early game Level 0 and 1 game to set up your hand, stock (most importantly) and resources to do two things: 1.) Use the 2/1 Saki combo to sneak out an early play the TD heal Emu or a Nene. Yes, I know! She’s not Wonderlands x Showtime….but this combo is fun here! At any point in Level 2 if you have enough in memory you can push extra damage with the set R Nene if you can early play her. I’ve included a few of the TD Nene because her ability to shut off events or backups during her battle makes her a good target for the 3/3 on reverse damage event from the trial deck. I will note this deck is very greedy on stock resources, so most of your choice triggers are probably going to want to go to stock to offset this.
Deck 2 Code: 4R3JE

Quick Pilot Guide Deck 2:
Here is the mono unit “Wonderlands x Showtime” deck. To make this playable at a budget level and while staying on theme, the events numbers need to be increased. This is especially true of the 2/1 event, because if we can’t get 3 of these in memory the set R 3/2 Emu’s on attack finisher ability will not be an option for us. Warning: Due to this the deck is only running 14 Level 0s which is incredibly low in modern standards for anything but a standby deck. Prepare to ditch and mill through your deck quickly, and salvage back things with your Level 1 Rui combo or the Level 2 Nene combo. This deck recuperates hand better than the other deck in my opinion, so I feel that focusing on sending Choice triggers to stock rather than hand will usually be the play to cover the cost of all of your events.
Budget Swap-Ins For Both Decks:

If you’re having trouble with setting up reverses in your meta to refill hand or don’t care for the 2/1 Saki/Nene combos, this Emu is also another climax combo that can help you fill a board with an extra attacker OR gain you a 4th attack in the turn by getting over something at any point in the game. There’s a couple of different strategies that can play out here, and since yellow isn’t known historically for its defensive power, crashing these cost 0’s to get an extra attack and build more stock for this deck’s end game is definitely an option!

Choosing the Level 1 combo for this deck was a tough decision. Honestly, this Miku hits and scales to better on reverse numbers and can help with milling through your deck. Rui’s combo, despite hitting lower power numbers, does allow you to plus off of open lanes if your opponent crashes into your Level 0 board to try to deny reverses. You may, however, want to consider this combo from the Trial Deck if you’re having trouble getting reverses in your meta.

Upgrades for when there’s some extra change in the wallet after payday:

If I was to upgrade anything about this deck immediately when I had some extra cash, it would be to swap in this 3/2 finisher Tsukasa. He’s a very powerful finisher, a perfect fit for our unit locked theme deck with a nice heal ability as well. First upgrade would be to run 4 of this in place of the TD Level 3 Emu and/or to probably drop the 3/3 event in place of him too.
